2020 Didn’t Suck
My goal with this project was to make a 1 week series of social media post showing a few highlights from the year. With the global pandemic it has caused a lot of people to want to leave 2020 and just forget about it. No matter how terrible the situation can be, I wanted to show that we can always find something good in even the most horrible situations.
Congrats on almost making it to the end of what some are calling “the worst year ever” I can admit that this year was not the best, but there was still a lot of stuff that happened this year that was really great, but might have gotten overshadowed by all the negative stuff going on. For the last week of the year I’m going to highlight a few good things that happened this year. The first one is our understanding and ability to connect with one another while still being apart. With apps like Zoom, FaceTime, and Google Hangout we were still able to connect with friends, relatives, colleagues, and even doctors and still feel safe. I hope that things like this can outlast this virus.
For day two of highlighting great things of 2020 I chose The Child who was cuter than ever in season 2 of The Mandalorian. As long as Grogu is okay then everything will be fine #grogu #babyyoda #mandalorian #themandalorian #starwars
For day 3 I wanted to highlight that @crayola launched “Colors Of The World”; a box of crayons with diverse skin colors for children to accurately color themselves into the world.
For the final day I want to acknowledge the bright side of the pandemic. Because of the stay-at-home order greenhouse gas emissions fell by roughly 2.4 billion tons, a 7% drop from last year. Even in the darkest tunnel there is still some light. Take some time this upcoming year, take a step back, and use this time to heal rather than decay.
